World Fantasy Con Wrap Up!

Posted | 0 comments

No, I’m not home yet (I fly out in a few hours) but I’ve already written up some of my favorite WFC memories over on the Enchanted Inkpot blog. Have a look! I’d have to say, this was the experience of a lifetime! So glad the con is coming to my home city of Toronto next year! Many, many thanks to Access Copyright Foundation who provided me with a grant to attend this conference.  If other Canadian writers are interested in getting a grant for travel or professional development have a look at this...

In spite of the broken arm, I’ve made it to San Diego! I’ll be reading an excerpt from WITCHLANDERS, plus a little taste of something brand new, on Thursday Night.  Hope to see you there! Lena Coakley at World Fantasy Con Thursday October 27 5:30 Pacific Room 4/5 In other news, I got to meet my agent, Steven Malk, today for the first time.  Steve works at the San Diego offices of Writers House, so I’m delighted I got this chance to visit. As you can see, one of the many things I’ve gained in the writing of this book is a community, which is why I would consider these last ten years time well spent even if I didn’t get a book out of it.   From my thank-you speech I had such a wonderful time last night at the Toronto launch for Witchlanders!  Here are a few pictures of the event at the beautiful Ben MacNally’s Bookstore.  Many, many thanks to the wonderful people at Simon and Schuster Canada for helping me to organize it, coming out in full force, donating the door prize and for being all-together awesome! For...

Toronto Launch Party for WITCHLANDERS

Right now, I’m up to my eyeballs planning a launch party for my first novel, Witchlanders.  If you’re in the Toronto area (or can get here!) I’d love to see you there!  I’ll be doing a short reading, signing books and giving away a door prize donated by the FABULOUS folks at Simon & Schuster, Canada.  The food will be awesome, if that has any power to sway you.  (A teaser: buffalo chicken dip, asparagus roasted in Parmesan crust and curried roasted butternut squash dip with sweet potato crisps.) Here are the details: Thursday, October 6, 2011 Ben McNally Books 366...
